Construction crews are getting ready to replace the wooden roof at the Woodstock Museum.
WOODSTOCK - If you've seen the Woodstock Museum lately you might have noticed a large scaffolding set up.
Crews are getting ready to replace the wooden roof of the building, after moss started growing on it.
Due to its National Historic Site status, the new roof will also have to be made out of wood. Curator Karen Houston says the Ontario Heritage Trust had to give the project the green light.
"Basically what we informed them is we were replacing what was there with the same materials and that got their approval so we are good to go."
Houston explains how long the construction should last once it starts.
"If the weather is good, which is has been, hopefully only six weeks."
The museum will remain open once the work is underway.
The project is costing the city $350,000, using approved funds from the 2017 Budget.
