Multiple bridge projects and the grand opening of a splash pad saw 2019 to be a very busy year for The Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - 2019 was a very busy year for the Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
Mayor Mark Peterson says they had three very expensive bridge projects this past year.
"We finished one bridge at Gobles and we have another one that's close, the CN tracks at Blenheim Road, and we have another one that we're working on the 12th Concession Road."
He adds they had the grand opening for the Splash Pad in Drumbo in June, calling it one of the best projects that was ever put into the Township.
After multiple projects kept Blandford-Blenheim busy this year, Mayor Peterson says he some resolutions for Township next year.
He says they've come up with a pretty aggressive schedule for paving and hard surfacing.
"I'd really like to something to see something happen whether it's this year or next year, or hopefully down the road, at our exit 250 down the Highway 401."
Going into 2020, Peterson says he's hoping the seniors complex in Plattsville comes to fruition. He adds they hope to combine the land that they have with the County and private sector.
Peterson says the 30-unit seniors complex in Plattsville is in the early stages and expects it to be the biggest thing they do over the next year or two.
