Cookies Make the Sakura House Smile

Woodstock Tim Horton's sold over 20-thousand smile cookies in one week. With every cookie costing one dollar, local franchises raised $20,300. All of the proceeds are going to the Sakura House. Fund Development Coordinator with the Hospice Kyra McNamara says the Smile Cookie Campaign has given them continued support. "The fact that Tim Hortons has supported us for five years consecutively, we know that there are so many worthy charities that support the community so it really does mean a lot that they've stuck with us over this time. They've raised over $70,000 with smile cookies over the last five year which is just tremendous," said McNamara. Owner of the Norwich Ave Tim Horton's Leslie Farrell says every campaign dollar stays in Woodstock. "This year we had actually a 30 percent increase in cookie sales. We sold 20,300 cookies so that translates into dollars, which is fabulous because every penny goes to Sakura House," said Farrell. Eileen Seabrook owns three Tim Horton's in Woodstock. She said they're happy to help Sakura House. "It's just so important to so many people in the community. It touches so many if not directly, indirectly and we just feel that it's been a wonderful partnership," said Seabrook. The Smile Cookie Campaign continues to grow every year seeing millions of dollars in sales nationally.
