Dog Bite Investigation in St. Thomas

Southwestern Public Health would like to speak with the owner of two dogs that allegedly bit someone on Lockes Ave in St. Thomas Tuesday afternoon.

ST. THOMAS - Southwestern Public Health is investigating a dog biting incident in St. Thomas.

Officials say two dogs bit someone on Lockes Ave, close to Confederation Drive, while they were being walked by their owner sometime between 3:40 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

One of them is described as a yellow or white medium-sized curly-haired dog, possibly a Golden Doodle. The other one was a small or medium-sized dog with short brown hair, believed to be a mixed breed.

The health unit would like to speak with the owner of these dogs to make sure they're up to date on their vaccines, and to rule out of if the victim requires rabies treatment.

Anyone with information should call Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
