Habitat for Humanity Heartland is searching for a deserving family as they plan their next build in Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - Habitat for Humanity Heartland is looking for a deserving family as they plan a new build in Ingersoll.
Sharon Brennan, General Manager of Partnerships and Programs, tells Heart FM the new home will go up in a familiar location.
"It is on Bell Street in Ingersoll and it is a parcel right next to the Sweeney family's home that we built last year."
Families interested in the home need to meet certain requirements including the ability to pay a zero interest mortgage. Brennan says there is also some 'sweat equity' required in the form of volunteer work.
"The family would donate their time to another charity or they might drive into London and help us in the office or help with the Woodstock ReStore; whatever works for them! Our families do have to donate 500 hours of volunteer service in order to qualify for their home."
The family would also have to help out with the construction of their new home.
You can find more information about the qualifications on the Habitat for Humanity Heartland website or call their office 519-455-6623
