Heart FM Interviews Oxford County Federal Candidates for the Upcoming Election

Heart FM interviewed the local candidates for the upcoming election, asking them each 6 pressing questions that will have an impact on our community.

OXFORD COUNTY - Heart FM recently interviewed the local candidates for the upcoming Federal Election.

Each candidate was given 2 minutes to answer the following 6 questions.

1. The pandemic saddled governments and businesses with a debt burden that would have been unimaginable just two years ago. The government projects that Canada’s national debt will rise to $1.4 trillion over the next five years.

Question: How do you plan to balance addressing the debt during a pandemic with investments for growth.

2. Cost of housing and the supply of affordable housing in Oxford County creates challenges for employers and their ability to recruit and retain talent, which ultimately can impact their business competitiveness. Entering the housing market remains a challenge for many young people and we also need more affordable housing for seniors.

Question: Can you please share some of your party’s plans to address these challenges?

3 part 2 what is your parties plan to stimulate the economy and help local businesses, still struggling to stay afloat thanks to impacts from COVID-19.

4. COVID-19 has shined the importance on local journalism and local media. How will your party support local broadcasters and would you support a clear and non-commercial mandate for the CBC/Radio-Canada that allows
them to complement our private broadcasters, and not compete with them?

5. COVID-19 is far from over, how do you think we can best manage this crisis moving forward in Canada and do you support more lockdowns.

6. What does your party plan to do to address climate change
