Increased Staffing At Long-Term Care Homes

Ontario government increasing staffing for long-term care residents.

OXFORD COUNTY - Increased staffing for long-term care homes.

A plan put in place to help out long-term care in Ontario is providing $673 million this year. This includes $5,677,608 for long-term care homes in Oxford. This is part of the province’s commitment to ensure long-term care residents receive on average, four hours of direct care per day by 2024-25.

Increased care for residents at the following:

- Caressant Care, in Woodstock to receive up to $1,159,944 for additional staffing this year.
- Maple Manor Nursing Home, in Tillsonburg, to receive up to $880,860 for additional staffing this year.
-  peopleCare, in Tavistock, to receive up to $715,152 for additional staffing this year.
- Secord Trails Care Community, in Ingersoll, to receive up to $627,936 for additional staffing this year.
- The Maples Home for Seniors, in Tavistock, to receive up to $305,256 for additional staffing this year.
-  Woodingford Lodge, in Ingersoll, to receive up to $296,520 for additional staffing this year.
- Woodingford Lodge, in Tillsonburg, to receive up to $296,520 for additional staffing this year.
- Woodingford Lodge, in Woodstock, to receive up to $1,395,420 for additional staffing this year.

The Ontario government will be investing $4.9 billion over four years to help increase direct care for residents to four hours daily by increasing care staff by more than 27,000.

Here are the annual funding increases to homes:

- $270 million in 2021-22
- $673 million in 2022-23
- $1.25 billion in 2023-24
- $1.82 billion in 2024-25
