Input Needed for WPS Strategic Plan

Woodstock residents have until the end of the month to fill out an online survey.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is looking for public input.

There was a change in provincial policing legislation 2 years ago, which has led Police Services to create a strategic plan. Police Services Board President Ken Whiteford says getting feedback from the community is very important.

"We decided to get into this with both feet, and we've introduced this community survey in order to collect some information as to what the public thinks about policing in Woodstock. And we're going to hopefully use that information, that feedback, to compile a new strategic plan for the years 2027 to 2030."

Police Chief Nick Novacich talks about how the survey will be used once the results come back to the Police Service.

"So, this is kind of like a roadmap for us to decide how do we deploy our resources? What's important to the community? How does the board ensure that adequate and effective policing is being delivered to our community?"

The survey is available online, and people have until the end of the month to provide their feedback and suggestions. To access the survey, you can click here.

Chief Novacich stopped by the Heart FM studio with Ken Whiteford on Wednesday, July 8th. You can listen to their full interview with Dan and Marcie below:
