Police are warning residents to never leave children unattended in a vehicle. They spoke with a caregiver of two children who were left unattended in a vehicle while the caregiver was inside of a store.
OXFORD COUNTY - OPP are parents and caregivers to never leave children unattended in a vehicle. The warning comes after an incident in Tillsonburg, where two children were left unattended in a vehicle while the caregiver was inside of a store.
Police did locate the adult in care of the children on Broadway street, around 11:45 a.m Thursday, at which time the children were not injured and were in good health.
With the hot temperatures, it can take just a few moments for a vehicle to get hot enough to cause heat exhaustion and even death in small children. Leaving a child alone in a vehicle goes beyond the weather conditions. The safety and well-being of a child should be the number one priority year around.
