A crash between a bike towing three kids and a van could have been a lot worse. Three kids being towed in a child carrier, ages 1, 4 and 5-years-old, suffered only minor injuries, when their 30-year-old father struck the side of a van on his bike. It happened at 7:15 last night in Vienna, in Bayham Township. The three kids were taken to Tillsonburg Hospital, and transferred to London Health Sciences Centre as a precaution. They were released with minor injuries. The father, Daniel Blatz, hit the van as it was reversing out of a private driveway. He hit the drivers side door, and flew off the bike, breaking the drivers side window. The child carrier also hit the van. Police are still investigating who was at fault. But they point out none of the children were strapped into the carrier, and none were wearing helmets.
