Madi Langdon moved to Toronto from Woodstock to pursue her acting dreams and the move is paying off. Langdon was cast in the new show Nurses airing on Global TV.
WOODSTOCK - A rising star from Woodstock continues to shine on the small screen.
Madi Langdon will be reprising her role as Winnie in the hit series The Next Step, which airs on the CBBC in the UK. Season 7 premieres in the UK on January 8th. The popular show will be available to Canadians this Spring through the CBC Gemini App.
Langdon says it's a really fun show, that acts like a mockumentary or a fake reality TV show.
"We have confessionals to the camera, but it is all scripted, it is a kids show that follows a dance team going through their way to Nationals, Regionals and Internationals. In season 7, the dance troupe is making their way to Nationals, but there are lots of twists in the story, lot's of drama, relationships and it is a really exciting and fun show."
The Last Step is filmed in Toronto and it is very popular in the UK.
Langdon also has a feature role in the new TV series Nurses on Global TV, that premiered last night. She will appear on episode 4. The scheduled air date for episode 4 hasn't been released just yet, however the pilot was on Monday night at 8:00 pm on Global TV, so if it follows the weekly schedule, her appearance would happen later this month. Once we get confirmation on the exact date of her episode, we will share that with you.
Langdon has moved to Toronto from Woodstock to pursue her acting dreams. She went to High School at St. Mary's and explains how she got bit by the acting bug.
"I grew up being a competitive dancer at Elite Dance Centre in Woodstock and I just grew up in the arts, loving telling stories through dance. My mom and I tried out acting to see how it would go and I just kind of fell in love with it, just like how dance is an art and you can tell stories through it, I love just love being able to tell stories by acting through them."
Langdon continues to train as an actor and going on auditions. She says it still seems surreal to see herself on the screen.
"Growing up in acting, I never expected this, it was such a far fetched to think I would book something on Global or to be on a show that I actually watch, I actually watched the Next Step seasons before I was on it. It is a crazy experience, knowing that people from all over the world and watching my character and I love being able to put smiles on people's faces and knowing that I am going to be on a Global TV show that is getting a lot of press right now."
Watch for updates on Langdon's career on Heart FM and we will be posting another story, once the start date of Madi's episode on Nurses is confirmed and when the Next Step is available on CBC Gem.
