HINO Motors in Woodstock will start producing a new model of truck in January. The HINO COE is set to hit the North American marketplace. Plant Manager Derek Holman says this new Class 5 truck makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces. "The new model itself is quite unique. When we add this to the Canadian market we're finding that a lot of our customers in large cities, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, where roads and allies that are small, there's tight spaces, they're able to purchase the COE and maneuver that in large cities and get product out to their customers very quickly," said Holman. Another new feature to the new model is that it comes in both a diesel and a hybrid version. The HINO plant has had to double its staff to launch the new vehicle. There are now 51 workers at their plant on Pattullo Ave. in Woodstock.
