For the fifth day in a row, Southwestern Public Health is not reporting any new cases of COVID-19 in our region. We currently have 7 active cases in Oxford County.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - No new cases of COVID-19 today in the Southwestern Public Health region.
We currently have 7 active cases of COVID-19 in Oxford County and 4 in St. Thomas and Elgin.

- 2 cases in Woodstock
- 1 case in Norwich Township
- 1 case in South West Oxford Township
To date, the Health Unit has tested 3,124 people for COVID-19. We have 62 cumulative confirmed cases, 47 cases have been resolved, 4 people have died from the virus and we currently have 11 active cases. We have also had two institutional outbreaks since the pandemic was declared, both in Elgin County.

The province's total number of cases climbs to 40,194 after 33 cases of COVID-19 were reported today. There were no deaths reported and there are 36,456 cases resolved.
Woodstock Police Briefs
There were several thefts and break-ins over the weekend in Woodstock, including a pair of glasses that were stolen from an unlocked car in the area of Pavey Street and a mountain bike that was stolen from a home on Mohawk Street.
Power Interruption In Blandford-Blenheim
Over 600 people are without power this morning in Blandford-Blenheim, but it is unknown what caused the interruption. A crew is en route and Hydro One says the power is expected to be restored by 10:45 am.
The Woodstock Art Gallery Opens Doors Today
The facility says they have modified their hours, under the direction of the Province, along with programming and a number of health measures to keep the public safe. They'll run from Tuesday to Friday from 12 to 4 pm.
Remembering Grandma Bessie
Bessie Lorena Rounds passed away peacefully at Woodingford Lodge last Tuesday at 107 years old. She was the oldest person in Oxford County.
Woodstock Police Briefs
Briefs include two separate mischief investigations, and police made an arrest of a 32 year old man who was disturbing the public, banging his fists on vehicles.
Belmont Man Charged With Impaired Driving In SWOX
Police found the vehicle on Prouse Road this past Saturday night and one officer detected the smell of alcohol on the driver's breath. The driver is scheduled to appear in a courtroom in Woodstock at a later date.
