No New Cases of COVID-19 Today in Southwestern Public Health Region

We still have 5 active cases of COVID-19 in the region, including 4 in Woodstock.

OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 this morning.  

We currently have 5 active cases in the region. Here is the breakdown of numbers according to Southwestern Public Health:

Woodstock - 4

Bayham - 1

To date we have had four institutional outbreaks at Long Term Care Homes. All four are listed as resolved. 5 people from the region have died from the virus and right now we have two people in the ICU. 

The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 17% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic. Right now we have 2 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with the virus and both are in the ICU.
