More study has been requested around speeds in Beachville, while in Hickson the timing of the reduced speed in a school zone will be extended both before and after school.
OXFORD COUNTY - Residents on the main streets of Hickson and Beachville can briefly breathe a sigh of relief because speed control measures are coming to their main streets.
More study has been requested around speeds in Beachville, while in Hickson the timing of the reduced speed in a school zone will be extended both before and after school.
A similar move is coming to the area on County Road 59 just north of Woodstock near the Woodstock Christian School.
Warden Larry Martin says the sentiment around council was that increasing the speed limits will probably result in an increase in speeding.
He added that if they are going 10 km/hr over at 50 km/hr they will also be going 10 km/hr over at 60 km/hr. Conversations with local police will continue to increase enforcement.
