Perth County OPP will be hosting some information sessions on fraud and scam awareness for the public next week. The meetings will be held throughout the County, including in Listowel, and they go from July 16th to 18th.
PERTH COUNTY - The OPP has been committed to educating the public and raising awareness of the many types of frauds and scams through presentations, media releases and when dealing with victims first hand.
Despite these efforts, Perth County OPP are still receiving many calls from people reporting they've been scammed, or an attempt has been made to scam them.
OPP will hold meetings for seniors, focusing on scams and frauds, beginning next Tuesday evening. There will be four meetings in total, going until July 18th.
The first session at the West Perth Library in Mitchell on July 16th at 6:30pm. Their next meeting will be inside the North Perth Library the following day in Listowel at 2:00pm and again at 7:00pm. The fourth and final meeting will be on July 18th at the Perth East Library in Milverton.
