UPDATE (5:56PM) - OPP indicate one victim has been recovered. The highway is expected to remain closed well into the evening. A recovery effort is underway this afternoon, after a transport truck left Highway 401, and crashed into the Nith River. The Hewitt-Packard truck was hauling computer equipment on the 401 Eastbound, and reportedly had two drivers inside. The crash happened at 11:30 this morning, near Trussler Road, and there's been no sign of the driver or passenger. OPP Constable Lisa Narancsik says they can't confirm any fatalities at this point. "I don't have any of that information at this point in time. We're completing a recovery and you are unable to see anything at this time, because (the cab) is completely submerged." On top of an OPP dive team on scene, there's also a clean-up crew to tend to a diesel spill. There are also laptop computers floating in the river. Highway 401 Eastbound will remain closed for several hours for investigation. Traffic is being diverted off the 401, onto the 403 in Woodstock.
