Premier Doug Ford suggests keeping your gatherings to 10 people or less for Thanksgiving, avoid hugging and kissing and consider wearing a mask indoors.
ONTARIO - Ontario Premier Doug Ford says Thanksgiving could make or break us as a Province when it comes to the battle against COVID-19.
He has released the clearest guidelines to date on how families should celebrate Thanksgiving this year. Ford says the rules are the rules and that is a maximum of 10 people indoors and 25 outdoors, however he still thinks those numbers might be too high. Ford also suggest wearing masks indoors if you go and visit loved ones this thanksgiving.
"What were asking is try to stay within the family, if you are going over somewhere and I understand there are a lot of single people out there, if they have a family they are close to, please wear a mask and keep a social distance."
Ford says the rules are very clear.
"I would really discourage people from having 25 people, even if it is outdoors, stick within 10 people and folks, we went through so much together, we can get through this, this is going to make or break it this thanksgiving."
He notes the testing is reaching 40,000 a day and the numbers are showing slight declines.
"Just please, hang in there. I have a big family and I told Carla and she knows, we have no more than 10 and that is what we are going to obey by, when it comes to having everyone over, your aunts and uncles, you know, hang off on the hugging and kissing and everything else, I just want to make it through thanksgiving here. Right now we need to bring the numbers down, that is about as clear as I can be on that."
