INGERSOLL - A motorcycle ride and fundraiser is happening tomorrow in Ingersoll.

The Who Will You Ride For Motorcycle Ride is being putting on to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Committee member Vicki Travnicek says it's the first year the event is being held.

"We're looking to do a silent auction, we need help with our barbecue, we need help with some breakfast. We already have so many riders that are saying 'what do you need us to do?' We're going to do a bit of a show and shine while we're doing registration and then we're heading off for a beautiful ride down to the lake. So people are starting to come together, starting to get excited. We do have some major sponsors already where we're holding the event and who've given us financial support to make this event happen."

Dunford Trucking and Ackerts Auto Spa are a few of the sponsors, the latter of which will host the registration located on 19th Line before the ride begins.

Event registration starts at 9:00 am and it costs $20.00 per bike. The event will also feature giveaways, food and music.

Participants will take a 30 minute ride to Port Burwell and riders can choose a different route coming back.

Travnicek says the ride is expected to start between 10:30 and 11:00 am.

"We have so many people that want to do something positive to help our community raise funds, to get counselling, to get resources for people who are struggling with their mental health. So that's why we need people to bring their bikes out, have a great day and do a great job."

Half of the proceeds will go to the Welkin Child And Youth Wellness and the other half will be put towards the Oxford County Suicide Prevention Team.
