RBC to Help Build Homes for Habitat For Humanity in Woodstock

Volunteers are always needed to assist in building 3 homes in Oxford County

WOODSTOCK - RBC is helping to raise the roof for local families.

CEO of Habitat For Humanity Heartland, Jeff Duncan says the help from RBC will go a long way. "The Royal Bank Canada Foundation has supported us many times in the past and have seen the value in the work we're doing regionally - so in Oxford County - and have come forward with a grant from their foundation to help with the two builds that are going on right now in Woodstock and that we hope to start sometime in the fall in Ingersoll."

"Without partners like RBC and the people in the community coming together - that's how we build the houses and it takes businesses and people to do it," says Duncan. "And RBC has been a catalyst for us in many of these builds."

Although this money is greatly appreciated, there is still a special need for community volunteers as well. The Woodstock builds are two storey homes and require skilled trades people to do some of the work - they are looking for carpenters and framers especially.

Originally they were hoping to have the Woodstock builds finished this fall and start breaking ground on the Ingersoll build around the same time.

RBC's presentation will take place at the Woodstock build locations at 525 - 527 Main Street in Woodstock on Monday June 29 at 10:00 a.m.
