Premier Ford says small businesses give back to local communities and it's time for us to return the favour.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Premier is urging everyone to support local this holiday season.
Doug Ford says to get your Christmas shopping done now.
"The most important for all of us to do is to support small businesses this holiday season. Shop local, shop early, I know it's easy to go to big box stores or ordering from the big online retailers like Amazon, but whatever you need to buy, there is probably a small business in your neighbourhood that sells it, so buy it from them, especially during the Christmas time."
Ford says small businesses give back to local communities and it's time for us to return the favour.
"We should try to give back to small businesses who have given so much back to our communities. Buy from your local toy store, stop buy your local bakery, order takeout, believe me folks it makes a world of difference to those mom and pop shops. Let's spread a little more joy this season, take care of each other and make sure we stay safe and healthy."
Yesterday the Premier announced the guidelines for the holidays.
They're asking everyone to only spend Christmas with the people in your household, if you live alone, you can team up with one other household.
