A teenager is facing serious life threatening injuries and a 17 year old is in custody, after a stabbing in Tillsonburg.
UPDATE: Heart FM has spoken to the mother of the victim in this case. She let us know that her daughter is back home recovering. She cannot thank the medical staff enough at the hospital for saving her daughter. In a previous story, Heart FM indicated the altercation involved males, however the teenagers were indeed both female.
TILLSONBURG - A teenager is facing serious life threatening injuries after a stabbing in Tillsonburg.
Police say a couple of teens got into a verbal altercation on Friday night on Broadway Street. The fight started verbal, before a physical confrontation broke out in the parking lot of a local restaurant. During the fight, one of the teens pulled out an edged weapon, stabbing the victim. The suspect then fled on foot.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital by Oxford County EMS and then taken to a London area hospital to be treated for serious life threatening injuries.
Police did arrest a 17 year old and charged them with aggravated assault.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock at a later date.
