Members of the Tillsonburg Council were presented with a draft proposal on the future of their airport Monday night. The proposal comes after a new sign and brand was given to the airport just last week. Multiple councilors are concerned with the revenue the airport receives. Deputy Mayor Mark Renaud said there has been so much money put into the airport and now he ?needs to see the meat on the bones.? Mayor John Lessif agreed, but tells Heart FM that the airport still holds value: "The Tillsonburg Airport is an asset not only to our community of Tillsonburg, but it's an asset to the county, particularly to the south end of the county. There's some economic development outcomes to having it where it is. So yes, we're very proud of it and we're going to work at making it more vibrant than it is." Lessif says they are blessed to have so many contributors at the airport. The draft proposal will go through other committees before it is brought back to council to be finalized.
