The Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital has received the highest level of excellence award from Accreditation Canada.
TILLSONBURG - Patients at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital can sleep a little easier tonight, knowing they are receiving the best care possible.
The local facility has received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing, the highest honour from Accreditation Canada.
All hospitals receive an onsite survey every 3 to 4 years, where inspectors check out every program, process and department. President and CEO Sandy Jansen says they had every program, process and department examined under a microscope back in September.
"They test us around every single thing that we do right from governance to patient care, how we manage disposing equipment and how we manage disposing garbage even."
In the end T-D-M-H managed to meet over 96 percent of nearly 2,000 standards. But no matter what time or day it is, Jansen says you can always expect the best care from TDMH
"We actually have a philosophy that we're accreditation every day. We want the hospital to be at the point that it wouldn't matter when a surveyor would come in, they would find exactly the same standard care which is the highest quality of care we can provide."
In a press release, Board Chair Mel Getty thanks everyone at the hospital for their hard work.
"The Board wishes to congratulate the entire team on their commitment to quality care. This achievement highlights the outstanding commitment to our patients and community in everything we do."
