WOODSTOCK - June is Pride Month and the City of Woodstock is showing their support.
Today they raised the pride flag at Museum Square. Mayor Trevor Birtch was on hand when they raised the flag this morning.
"The Friendly City is a great city and here we are in the middle of a pandemic and unfortunately the crowds are unable to gather here today but as people gather past and enjoy everything the City has to offer, they will see this flag flying for the next month."
The Woodstock Police Department also honoured Pride month by changing their profile picture on social media to include a rainbow and issued the following statement on twitter.
Happy #PrideMonth! We are proud to stand together to support inclusion, diversity and equity even when physical distancing because #loveislove ! #PRIDE2020 pic.twitter.com/kzYE3FY2FI
