Woodstock-Ingersoll Smile Cookie Campaign Raises Over $90,000

The Tim Hortons locations in Woodstock and Ingersoll sold over 90,000 Smile Cookies last month. The Norwich Ave store in Woodstock sold 30,000 alone, ranking number 1 in the region and 4th overall in all of Canada.

WOODSTOCK/INGERSOLL - Few things are certain in life, but one thing that is certain, is the good people of Oxford County love eating Smile Cookies and supporting a great cause.

Owner of the Norwich Ave Tim Hortons Leslie Farrell says they sold over 90,000 cookies at the Tim's locations in Woodstock and Ingersoll.

"We sold in Woodstock and Ingersoll, $90,362.00 in Smile Cookies this year."

All of the money raised will go to United Way Oxford and Sakura House. They will be having an official cheque presentation today.

The store on Norwich Ave was actually number 1 in the region selling 30,000 cookies and they came in 4th overall in all of Canada.

Farrell says they had to bring in volunteers to help make the cookies this year, to make sure they could keep up with the demand.

"We have been really lucky this year, Toyota partnered up with us and they were able to decorate a lot of cookies for our stores this year which was wonderful. I also reached out to the local community and was overwhelmed by the people in this community once again, who stepped up to help us make cookies this year."

Farrell says buying those Smile Cookies really does make a big difference for local charities.

"I want to thank the community for supporting the Smile Cookie campaign again this year. I know people look forward to it every year and I know the charities really appreciate the money. It has been a tough year for a lot of charities, so putting smiles on peoples faces is a great way to raise money for them."
