Police say physical distancing and emergency orders are still in place and you must keep at least two metres apart and limit gatherings to no more than five people.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are reminding everyone to stay safe this Victoria Day Long weekend.
Police will be out in full force continuing to ensure the safety of the community over the weekend, but want to remind everyone of a few key safety measures.
Please continue to abide by the physical distancing and emergency orders under the EMCPA set out by our government officials. This includes but is not limited to gatherings of no more than five people and keeping a distance of at least 2 meters from others.
Do not drive impaired. If you will be celebrating the long weekend by consuming drugs or alcohol at home do not get in the driver’s seat.
Additionally, just because traffic is not as heavy during this time, that does not give anyone permission to drive recklessly, distracted or impaired. Police are reminding everyone to buckle up, pay attention and slow down.
Fireworks are banned in the City of Woodstock. However, the open air fire ban has been lifted for those with a permit.
The Woodstock Police Service wishes everyone a happy, safe and healthy long weekend.
