The final numbers have been made to the public and they are close to what was expected
EAST ZORRA - The Township of East Zorra Tavistock has released their 2014 audited financial statements.
They finished the year with an accumulated surplus of $31,714,375 which is $1.5 million more than they had budgeted for. CAO Jeff Carswell tells Heart FM the biggest expenses last year was protection services and transportation and they didn't have any big surprises.
"Pretty much went as planned, there were a few projects that didn't get done, in general things were pretty much on track, I think when we were looking at some our details we had some variability in the public works area with respect to snow and snow removal."
Carswell says the final numbers came in pretty close to where they expected and they did have some variability in the Public Works department with snow removal. He notes it may look like the snow removal was over budget, however a number of other projects came in under budget so it balanced itself out.
