Seth Allen would like to become a voice for the rural students of Oxford County as a trustee for the Thames Valley District School Board.
WOODSTOCK - A truck driver is looking to make a difference within the Thames Valley District School Board.
Seth Allen of Ingersoll is in the running to become a school board trustee for Oxford County, and he feels he can be the voice rural students need.
"If you don't like what you see and you want change, be that change. I haven't liked what I've seen for a while from this school board so what a perfect way to get involved. My goal if I'm elected is to reach out to the city trustees and [express that] our issues matter just as much as the ones in the city."
Allen is concerned that the divide between city and rural is getting larger, and he believes it was proven by the vote to end the Rural Education Task Force. He wants to ensure rural kids have the same opportunities as kids in the city.
The municipal election will take place this fall, on October 24th.
