Several vehicles were broken into and stolen from in Paris Monday night.
PARIS- Several vehicles in Paris have had their windows smashed and had valuables stolen from them.
Brant OPP received multiple reports of vehicle theft on Tuesday morning. Sometime the night before, laptops, dash cameras, and other items were stolen from vehicles parked in the driveways of multiple addresses in north Paris.
Video footage received by police shows one person arriving on foot and going from car to car with a flashlight looking inside before breaking specific windows.
Police shared a few tips to prevent items from being stolen from vehicles:
- Make sure your vehicle windows and doors are closed and locked when parking your vehicle, even if you are only going to be a few minutes.
- Never leave valuable objects, wallets, purses, or packages in full view. Remove them or lock them in the trunk.
- Clean out your garage and park your vehicle in it. Lock both your vehicle and the garage door.
- If your vehicle is equipped with a security system, remember to activate it.
