Farm Food Care Ontario has selected Hoenhorst Farms to host Breakfast on the Farm.
INNERKIP - Breakfast on the Farm is coming to Innerkip.
On Saturday June 14th, residents will be able to visit Hoenhorst Farms for a tour and demonstration on how the farm equipment works.
Cox Wensink is proud that her family farm was chosen to host this event.
"It's organized with partnership of Farm Food Care Ontario, and they go through about a handful of farms every year, and this year they picked out this area, Oxford County, and we will be 1 of about 5 farms that are hosting this."
She adds this year is the 100th anniversary of her family owning the farm, so it is exciting to be celebrating that milestone with this event.
Wensick says it's $5 for adults to attend and children 12 and under are free.
"We are asking people to register ahead of the events. It does tend to book up fairly fast, so please go ahead and book for it. And the registration is online."
The cost will cover the meal, which includes a egg, cheese and peameal bacon sandwich, milk, apple cider, along with asparagus and strawberries. If you are interested in attending, you can register online here.
Cox Wensink stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Friday May 16th and you can listen to the full interview below:
