The federal government is sending up to 225 Canadian Armed Forces members to the United Kingdom to train Ukrainian soldiers.
Defense Minister Anita Anand has announced the federal government is sending Canadian troops to the United Kingdom to help train Ukrainian soldiers.
Anand says up to 225 Canadian Armed Forces members will be sent to Britain for the initiative.
The trainers will eventually be based in the U.K. for an initial four month period, where they will work with soldiers from Britain, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
This comes about six months after Canada ended its previous training mission in Ukraine, just weeks before the Russian invasion.
