A Brantford resident was arrested by the Norfolk OPP on Old Highway 24 on August 14th.
WATERFORD - A 53-year-old from Brantford has been charged with assault, criminal harassment, and resisting a peace officer in Waterford.
Police say someone was verbally harassed and later assaulted while they were on the Heritage Trail close to the Waterford Ponds on August 7th. The culprit took off in a blue Chevy Silverado pickup truck afterwards, and thankfully no one was hurt.
Officers were able to arrest and charge their suspect on Old Highway 24 a week later. They now have a court date in Simcoe next month.
The Norfolk OPP would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to be cautious while enjoying the local trails. It's a good idea to go out in groups, tell you're loved ones where you're going, and carry a cellphone on you.
