The city of Woodstock is applying for a Trillium Grant as they look at some expensive work at Southwood Arena.
WOODSTOCK - The city of Woodstock is applying for a Trillium Grant of up to $500,000.
Mayor Trevor Birtch tells Heart FM if the city gets the funding, it will benefit the Woodstock Community Complex - Southwood Arena.
"The refrigeration is in need of a retrofit at this point in time and if we can seek that grant funding it means that our regular tax dollars can be put to better use in the city."
The cost of the entire project is almost $1.5 million and the work will take place in 2017 and 2018. The city will know if they are approved for the grant sometime this fall.
