The Canadian Mental Health Association Oxford's new executive director hopes to bring generosity and creativity to the association. Mike McMahon took on the job August 7th. "I've worked in a management role which is a neat opportunity to work in management with people who are providing direct service. So whether that was at Wilfrid Laurier University Student's Union or in long-term care: I was administrator in a Hamilton long-term care facility. Reading the job description for the executive director here and getting a little bit of information about the position, it really looked like that familiar opportunity I've seen," said McMahon. McMahon has deep roots in Woodstock, his mother's family farming here for 150 years. Joe Penton was the former executive director who retired earlier this year. The CMHA Oxford serves residents with persistent, diagnosed mental illnesses.
