Oxford County council will consider a number of community grants during budget deliberations.
Oxford County council is being asked to deliver a number of community grants in the 2016 business plan and budget.
Some of the biggest ones include $35,000 for economic development, $35,000 to the South Centre Ontario Region Action Plan or Scor and $50,000 to Oxford Creative Connections. Warden David Mayberry tells Heart FM one of the most important things to remember when looking for a grant from the County.
"They need to be able to cover the whole County so when you look at the grant you can see a benefit to the County and the residents of the County, an example would be the SCOR Region Economic Development Grant request, that is something that is intended to support the County and in fact the entire region. We are one of five counties involved and we will have to wait and see if all five counties contribute the same amount to SCOR this year."
The grants will be discussed and debated during the three meetings set aside for the 2016 budget deliberations with the first one happening on Wednesday morning. Here is the complete list of the organizations requesting grant money from the County:
