The 20th annual Dairy Capital Run will be raising money to support the maternal child unit at the Woodstock Hospital this year.
WOODSTOCK - The 20th annual Dairy Capital Run is already 50 percent sold out.
Early bird registration is in full swing and you do get some pretty heft discounts for signing up early. The run will take place on Sunday May 29th at Southside Park in Woodstock. Senior Development Officer for the Woodstock Hospital Jocelyn Jenner tells Heart FM about a new addition to the race this year.
"2016 marks the 20th year of the Dairy Capital run so we have introduced a 20 k run to mark the special occasion, right now we have 15 people signed up for that one and then we of course have our regular 10 k run, 5 k walk/run, 2 k walk/run and then a race for the little guys called the Little Hoofers. The race starts in Southside Park and we go just around the perimeter of the park, so it's nice easy run, a couple of hills but nothing too steep for the participants."
All of the money raised at the event will go towards supporting the Woodstock Hospital Foundation.
"So all of our funds this year will help us purchase bassinets, so we are going to be replacing 20 bassinets in our maternal child unit this year."
