Donations are still needed to reach the $6,000 fundraising goal for the SK8 for ALS competition this year. Online donations are being accepted all week.
PARIS - This years SK8 for ALS was another huge success in Paris.
This is the final fundraiser ever as the organizer, Cole Hayward will be finishing high school this year. He has organized this event for the past 6 years in memory of his father, who passed away from ALS when he was only 2. This years event has already raised over $3,600 this year. They are still a little short of their $6,000 goal and online donations are still be accepted.
Organizer Hayward, who is a 17 year old teenager from Princeton says he was blown away by the competitors this year.
"It was awesome, on Sunday with the skate board competition, we had to battle with the rain a little bit, but we managed to find a dry spot and wait until the park dried up and then we got the day going. Lot's of crazy tricks went down, some of the best skateboarding I have seen over the last 6 years."
You can donate to the cause and help Cole reach his $6,000 goal online here.

PARIS - The 6th annual Skate for ALS is coming up in Paris.
16 year old Cole Hayward of Princeton started organizing the fundraiser when he was 11. He says he wanted to do something to honour his father.
"I started it because, when I was 2 years old, my dad passed away from ALS and I'm just trying to raise money and help out, so nobody else has to go through something like that."
Over the past 6 years the event has raised over $11,000 for ALS.
The skateboard and scooter competition is happening on September 14th and 15th at the Paris Optimist Skate Park. They will have prizes for best trick and highest ollie for the skateboarding and best trick and longest run for the scooter competition. The scooter competition is happening on the 14th from 12-4 pm and the skateboarding one is the next day at the same time. It cost $5 dollars for riders to enter. They will have a BBQ going on as well.
This is the final jam for the popular contest and they have set a lofty fundraising goal this year of $6,000. Cole and his mother Stephanie are hoping to raise these funds in honour of the 6th year.
"If you would like to help us reach our goal, you can donate here or at our event or both! We appreciate all the support over the last 6 years and could not have made the impact we have without such generous supportive people."
You can donate online now here. All the funds go to ALS Canada.
