The OPP are searching for the driver of a black compact car after a fatal crash on Perth Line 26
PERTH - The OPP are searching for a driver who failed to remain at the scene of a fatal crash.
Last night around 10:50 p.m. the Perth County OPP and Perth County EMS responded to a serious collision on Perth Line 26 between Road 109 and Road 110.
Through investigation police discovered a compact black car travelling eastbound on Perth Line 26 attempted to pass a full sized eastbound Chevy Express van in the westbound lane. A westbound Pontiac Grand Prix veered onto the gravel shoulder to try and avoid the crash, but lost control. The Grand Prix veered across the lane and was T-boned on the passenger side by the Chevy van.
The driver of the Grand Prix, 26 year old Jason Ramtahal of Kitchener, has died.
The Perth County OPP are still searching for the driver of the black car who failed to stop and continued eastbound on Perth Line 26. They believe the car may have been a Kia or a Honda. It was last seen travelling toward Tavistock.

The OPP West Regional Technical Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating.
Perth Line 26 between Road 109 and Road 110 is expected to be closed until 6 a.m. on August 24th.
