Sheri Karelson would like to bring some of her financial experience to East Zorra-Tavistock Council.
EZT - She wants to serve the community she has fallen in love with over past two decades.
Sheri Karelson moved to Innerkip with her husband 22 years ago and she would like to represent Ward 3 on East Zorra-Tavistock Council.
She operates her own business out of her home, specializing in window shades and blinds. She worked in the insurance industry beforehand, where she did a lot of budgeting and forecasting.
"I think I have a unique perspective and a fresh perspective. I believe I have the skills to run for council and be a good councillor that makes good financial decisions and well thought out decisions that could benefit the community."
In her personal life, she had been involved with sports organizations in Woodstock, Brantford, and Wilmot. She also enjoys lawn bowling and playing pickleball.
"I feel the community is better when we all get involved, so I would like to use some of the experience I have to focus on the financial responsibility for Oxford."
She says council needs to make decisions that respect the residents, while also making the community attractive for newcomers.
The municipal election is scheduled for October 26th.
