BRANT/OXFORD - One person has died after a significant storm rolled through the region.

The Brant OPP say multiple people were hurt at a campground on Pinehurst Road earlier today. In a video on the OPP West Region Twitter page, Acting Sergeant Ed Sanchuk says a tree fell onto a trailer at the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area.

Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries. A third person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later passed away. Police have not released the identity of the person who died, as officers notify their close friends and family.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and anyone with information is being asked to call the Brant OPP at 1-888-310-1122. The Brant OPP is also asking everyone to stay away from trees that may have been damaged by the storm.

Meanwhile in Oxford County, police say three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries after trees fell down on two golf carts at a golf course in Zorra Township. No further details have been released in regards to that situation.
