Registration is now open for a Future Oxford Speaker Series live stream that's going to focus on composting.
OXFORD COUNTY - Time is running out if you want to register for Go Organic - Rot, the next Future Oxford Speaker series event.
Bryan Smith, the Chair of Zero Waste Oxford, says the online presentation is going to be all about composting.
"You can take organic waste out into your yard and either use a composter, a green cone, a worm digester, or some other technologies to reduce the amount of waste that ends up going in your garbage bag."
Smith says Rich Hesterman is a local expert on the topic and he will be one of the guest speakers.
"Rich is absolutely brilliant. He's going to share the experience that he's had over the past number of years where he creates quite wonderful quantities of soil that can enrich your garden soils."
Those who tune into the free live stream at 7:00 p.m. on Monday August 22nd will be able to comment and ask questions. Smith says the discussion will be posted online afterward, so those who aren't able to tune in will be able to watch as well.
You can register for the event online here.
