The Oxford OPP is investigating two separate thefts of farm fuel in the region.

Police say both thefts happened between August 13th and 15th at night. One of them happened when a suspect broke a locking assembly on a farm fuel tank and stole about 100 litre's of regular gas from the tank at a farm on Township Road 9 in Blandford-Blenheim Township. The second theft happened at a farm on Middletown Line in Norwich Township. In this case about 2300 gallons of diesel was siphoned from various trucks, farm equipment and fuel tanks on the farm.

An investigation into both of these thefts is ongoing.

The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that may be sitting in neighbour’s driveways when they are not home or vehicles that are traveling aimlessly up and down roads. The public should try to get descriptions, license plate numbers and direction of travel and report this immediately to their local police service. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
