The Integrated President and CEO of Alexandra Hospital and Tillsonburg Memorial has voluntarily stepped down.
Alexandra Hospital and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital will need a new integrated president and CEO.
Crystal Houze, who has been on a paid leave of absence since January, has voluntarily stepped down according to a media release. Alexandra Hospital, Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, and the South West Local Health Integration Network has been investigating Houze for undisclosed issues.
During the last week of December the Heart FM news team received an anonymous letter. In the letter it stated that Crystal Houze had been placed on a leave of absence while the board investigated accusations of bullying.
In the media release Houze says, "This was a very difficult decision for me, but I want to do what is best for AHI and TDMH. The two hospitals are in a period of transition and are benefiting from many positive initiatives. I hope it continues under strong leadership."
The release also notes that when Houze was hired, both hospitals were in a deficit position, but the budgets have now been balanced as mandated by the South West LHIN. They also praise her for establishing the Campuses of Care in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
