Tim Lobzun would like to become the next Mayor of Ingersoll.

INGERSOLL - A familiar face has decided to enter the mayoral race in Ingersoll.

Tim Lobzun has launched his fifth campaign for the job. He has always paid very close attention to council meetings, and he recently noticed something he was not happy about.

"With subdivision agreements, they're not allowed comment on them until after the planner has approved the plan. We are the only municipality in Oxford County that does that. That was the big thing that pushed me to run for mayor this time because to me that's wrong and democracy is being hurt."

If he's elected, Lobzun would also like to push for more housing. He says we need build more smaller houses in the community, rather than large multi-generational homes.

The Mayor of Ingersoll has a seat on Oxford County Council. With that being said, Lobzun would like to advocate for better water and wastewater surcharges for his hometown.

"If you're a senior and you go away for the winter, you're still paying $75 to $80 a month just for the privilege of having it hooked up! I think there are some ways to get around that."

Lobzun's daughter is currently serving as his campaign manager, and the two have a big focus on campaigning this time around, so you can expect to see them out in the community engaging with the voters.

In his professional life, Lobzun has mostly worked in manufacturing management, going into companies to turn things around.

Voters will head to the polls on October 26th.
