Police say an Ingersoll resident was tricked out of $80,000 after they invested in Bitcoin with a person they met online.
INGERSOLL - The Oxford OPP is investigating after an Ingersoll resident recently lost $80,000 in an online scam.
Police say someone on John Street invested in Bitcoin with a person they met over social media. The Oxford OPP heard about the incident at around 10:20 a.m. yesterday.
Police say you should always be on high alert while online, especially when you receive unsolicited responses or requests.
