Linamar Corporation is currently in the process of acquiring Salford Group and the deal is expected to close in the second quarter of this year.
SALFORD - It looks like the Salford Group is about to join the Linamar Corporation.
Linamar is currently in the process of acquiring Salford Group, but the deal is still subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions. The two companies are hoping to make it official in the second quarter of this year.
Linamar is an advanced manufacturing company based in Guelph. Acquiring Salford Group will expand its agriculture portfolio because Linamar owned White Farm Equipment back in the 1980s and Western Combine back in the 1990s. MacDon Industries Limited is currently handling Linamar's agriculture portfolio.
Linamar Executive Chair and CEO Linda Hasenfratz says the Salford Group will be an excellent addition.
“Salford has a strong portfolio of differentiated products in the crop nutrition application and tillage segments. These are areas we had identified in our agriculture growth strategy as highly attractive segments for future product diversification.”
Once the deal is done, Salford Group will continue to sell products under the Salford brand and its head office will remain in Oxford County.
Salford Group President Geof Gray says they're excited to join the Linamar family.
“Linamar and MacDon both have excellent reputations in the industry and we believe the combination of our resources, our respective brand strengths, and distribution networks will enable Salford to compete and innovate at a higher level with greater market coverage, delivering even more value to dealers and farmers.”
