Hockey players from Oxford County are hoping to win a VIP trip to Vancouver.
A number of young hockey players from Oxford County are hoping to win a Rogers Hometown Hockey contest and a chance to win the trip of a lifetime.
The players are on the Brantford 99ers AAA minor pewee team which features 1 player from Woodstock, 2 from Ingersoll and 5 players from Tillsonburg. Parent Volunteer Charlotte Marshall tells Heart FM how they got involved in the best cheer contest.
"We were one of the luck cities where Rogers did come to and they asked a lot of teams in the community to put out a cheer and we were one of the 5 finalists and then we won the local contest where every kid was given a Bauer hockey stick."
The 99ers won the local contest and are now in a national contest for a VIP trip to Vancouver to see the Canucks take on the Edmonton Oilers. You can listen to their cheer and vote for the Brantford 99ers online at http://www.hometownhockey.com/cheer
