Through the colder winter weather, Oxford Pride is working to lift your spirits with their upcoming Love is Love Pride Dance.
OXFORD COUNTY - With Valentine's Day just around the corner, Oxford County Pride is getting set to host a pride dance for Oxford County.
Love is Love is a 19-plus event which will feature a silent auction, door prizes, music, and more.
Tami Murray with Oxford County Pride says that it's a great time of year for a fun event.
"We do try to do a winter pride event in the month of February because, you know, February is kind of blah. We want to remind people that there's love in the air and there's lots of fun things to do in Oxford County."
This comes after the recent changes made by the Township of Norwich voting to reverse their previous ban of non-government flags on city-owned property, now allowing them along with other pre-approved flags.
She says she isn't just proud of the event, but of the acceptance and progress seen lately in the community.
"We are so happy to see the positive and progressive changes that have been happening over the last month in Norwich and I think the allies, the advocates, and the community really came together."
The event is set to run on February 10th from 8-10 p.m. at Unifor Hall (126 Beale Street) here in Woodstock.
Tickets can be purchased for $20 at Early Bird Coffee, the Upper Thames Brewery, or on the Oxford Pride website.
