A 36-year-old man from Woodstock is facing charges after an explosives investigation on Wilson Street yesterday. No one was hurt and there is no threat to public safety.
WOODSTOCK - Charges have been laid in a recent explosives investigation on Wilson Street in Woodstock.
Woodstock Police responded to two weapons calls in a Wilson Street parking lot, close to Peel Street, on Tuesday. The first call came in at around 5:10 a.m. and the second call came in at around10:30 p.m.
Officers completely closed off Wilson Street between Peel Street and Hounsfield Street yesterday afternoon and the Waterloo Regional Police Explosives Disposal Unit was called in to assist in the investigation.
Officers arrested a 36-year-old Woodstock man in the end. He was charged with two counts of intent to destroy or damage property, place, or throw an explosive substance and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He's also facing one count of mischief and one count of failure to comply with undertaking.
No one was hurt and police say there is no threat to public safety.
